You can find Monarch butterflies here from mid-Oct to mid-Feb. They get dormant when its cold so make sure to go when its  above 60 degrees 

This butterfly is not a Monarch but it looked really pretty

Milkweed plant. The only plant the larvae eats

The larvae has attached itself to a twig!
Clusters of monarchs high up above the ground
